I interviewed at IBM, but at the time they still had their white shirt dress code.
That made me wonder what hidden rules they had, and I decided not to pursue
it any further.

I went with Honeywell but that turned out to probably not be the best choice either as
they soon bailed out of the computer race . (Came back later with the BULL, but
never really gained significant market share).

They were controls, and that's really what they did best.

the white shirt rule was not used at certain research/development locations.
Tradition is peer pressure from dead people

What do you call someone who speaks three languages? Trilingual. Two languages? Bilingual. One language? American.

I interviewed at Smith St in Waltham, Ma. It was all white shirts that I could see.
There was another R & D building that I didn't go into, and probably where I would
have been working, but I never made it in there. It was so long ago, but I know I
asked about dress code.

(I think Honeywell offering me more money may have been a factor at the time).
