Microsoft 's great gift to Linux
#1
For years my nickname for Microsoft was Microshaft Winblows. I won't say that anymore, the release of VSCode has changed my mond. Now check this one out. They have just released 60,000 patents into open domaine, see story here: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/10/...0-patents/
and here: https://www.howtogeek.com/fyi/microsoft-...community/
A quote from the article "Microsoft is determined to continue pushing its support for Linux"

Once lost, trust is gained back hard. I will wait to see what are their intentions.

Still hard to give them any trust since we might simply be in the Extend phase of their Embrace, Extend, Extinguish strategy for Linux. It is a little concerning to see their investements in the Linux Fundation as well. For the same reason I believe it is also wise to get away from Github now that they bought it. Just my 2ยข :)

I will most likely have an utter hatered for Microsoft for the rest of my life. I just feel like companies are self centered and that they only care about their profit margins. Things like these makes me think they just came up with some plan that we cant see yet.

Well, it could be a simple strategy. If you can't beat them, join them. Then destroy them from an inside.
