How i do a sound meter using python and extract the data to a database?

Hello,
You see I have to do a project with a raspberry in which it consists of using the raspberry and a microphone to convert it into a sound meter and export the decibels to a database.
The problem I have is that my knowledge about python is null.
It would be very helpful if you could give me a sample of how it is done.
