typing farsi (persian) in python

(I tried to find some information about what OS gray is using but could not find some. Did I miss it?)

Could you describe what you get? I myself see a window with farsi letters inside the window, only the title bar does not contain farsi but small boxes instead of letters. Is it the same for you? Or how does look what you see?

what OS,
CPU make
Version of Python, etc.

You can type in farsi, right? As it seems from you posts?
Try in the terminal window:

apt-get install locales
dpkg-reconfigure locales
