Python R&D Dev (DC metro area / Remote)

Come join PUNCH Cyber Analytics Group, an Inc. 5000 "Best Workplaces" company two years running. PUNCH is a Virginia-based small business supporting a number of R&D and cyber security projects for a variety of customer sectors. We have an immediate, full-time opening for a python developer to help scale-up some our data science analytics, automate/scale-up ETL jobs in AWS, create prototype interface/UI to display results/data, automate DevOps processes, and help in the construction of new analytics/algorithms when investigating cyber security log data. Most of the team in Northern Virginia, but would be willing to consider remote work for the right candidate. Please note: candidates MUST be US Citizen and be able to pass technical interview(s) and background check.

Skills desired (the more the better):
* Strong Dev: python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, dask, Jupyter), JavaScript, Java/Scala, git, ability to create basic/prototype UI/UX
* Strong understanding of scaleable data processing and storage fundamentals (databases, big data/distributed tools, ETL- ingesting, transforming, fusion/enrichment, storing data at scale)
* Understanding of math/statistics to work with maturing AI/ML/data science code base
* DevOps experience: Linux/Unix, LDAP, IAP, sys/net admin, ansible/puppet, docker/virtualization (OpenStack), cloud (AWS/Azure), familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem and Apache projects (hdfs/hive/hbase, kafka, druid, storm, spark)
* Understanding of cyber security problems (host/network log analysis, sensors/tools/data formats, threats, threat models/ATT&CK)
