what do you mean "by topic"?
Look at RSS syndication link a the bottom - you can choose one or more subforums - e.g. General coding help and GUI

I asked the MyBB staff, but i dont have high hopes since it is not listed on the RSS page. But you never know, maybe they didn't think that anyone would want that and have a bypass to be able to do that. We will see.
