That's one way,i have done that for many year on BitBucket from my Norwegian Television program(WxPython drag&drop from Browser).
The releases is what the users care about,as this is for none Python users.
So all is stand alone(No Python installation) eg .exe on Windows,readme on Linux.
It's okay that in download area i can see download count,then i know that someone still use it.

Both GitHub and BitBucket is fine/safe as a storage place,i also have code with basic default setup that a like for eg Flask.
The can i just do from anywhere home/server..ect git clone flask_repo and get all code ready to use.

yeah, github has its pluses. i might put it there if i can get on.

the single concept for this was "i have a bunch of useful functions". but if breaking it up into a few groups would help, then that is good feedback.
