Thread remains in New Posts after complete read

Why does this post remain in my New Posts list after visiting?
I've noticed a couple of these lately

That is working as expected. "New Posts" shows all posts from the last hours. If you want to remove threads you have already visited from the list, try the link "Unread Posts"

New posts are posts between your login times.

I had to click on "Mark this forum read" to turn off the bold markup

Did it happen to be at or around the same time of an edit on the post. If the last post on a thread was edited, its marked to everyone as unread again. Ive had that happen a couple times but was because someone edited the last post at the time I was marking them read.

Yes, I thought I included the link, but guess I didn't

In the past once the post had been visited, it remained in the New Posts list, but bold text was gone. (most still work that way), this post acted as though it had not been visited.

The new posts will still show it in that list after visiting. unread posts will not show it after visiting it. You could consider new posts as posts since i last logged in.
