Newbie looking for some insight
#1
Hello everyone! I am a newbie that just enrolled in "Python for everybody" on Coursera. So far I'm grasping it real well.

My question to the community is at my current job I am offered a saftey award this year. I can pick whatever I want. I'm currently learning python on our house computer and if you know how a family run computer gets.... yea ...

I'm thinking of getting a computer dedicated to just programming. My budget is $300-$400.

My first idea was the raspberry pi 4 4gb with a 13" monitor. In one of my classes there was a whole 10 min video dedicated to the raspberry pi.

Or my second option would be get a chromebook or something on the cheaper side, wipe the OS on it and load a version of linux.

I'm split between these two options, I'm very curious as to all the applications and projects the raspberry pi has to offer, just don't know if it would be good to use as a straight up computer vs a normal laptop.

Thanks!
