There should be no need for the raspberry pi.

In my case I need the processing speed of rasp zero. Thats why I couldnt use the Arduino.

It is possible that the pi is needed. But I'm thinking no MPU at all just Neotrellis -> MCP2221A -> Computer

Yes, and also the: MCP2221A Breakout - General Purpose USB to GPIO ADC I2C (Stemma QT / Qwiic) (AdaFruit 4471)
I will tie the Neotrellis M4 to the MCP2221A and that to USB port of computer. Without Pi.

slow start, yesterday i never had a spare minute, and today I just got home from running errands.
I intend to get started after dinner this evening. (Also, I'm in my mid 70's, and even though I hat to admit it, I run on a somewhat slower pace that I used to -- Been writing software since 1968)
