I'm telling you this as I expect it's probably right up your alley, and you'd enjoy.

i never did learn Forth, but i wanted to. i didn't have a way to run it. eventually i came across Postscript and learned enough of that to do some nice graphics. it had a lot of the feel of Forth. one month our ham radio club want to buy an ad in the school newspaper for an open meeting. i made the ad and printed it out double size for their camera. when i handed it to the guy at the newspaper office, he said it was better than their own people can do. he went to show it around to a few people. it came out perfect in print with the gray-gradient (that had text over part of it) showing ultra-fine. i wish i had saved it.

tools that can do that, even in color, come free for all the computers and phones, today.
