I've been programming steadily since 1968.
I'm not PCAP or P-anything certified, and don't expect I will ever be.
I receive calls on a regular basis asking if I will work on a particular project, so no effect there.

Don't think I will need it.
Nor would I put much weight on it (although I would recognize it as an accomplishment) if hiring.
