input function question
#11
Problem partially solved.

As it turns out, I was trying to compile the python program using <cntrl> B in Sublime, the python text editor.
I have often compiled within Sublime with success but probably without using an input statement

My problem goes away if I execute the problem outside of Sublime.
That is, If I execute the python program using the command line window, all is good, but if I do a cntrlB in sublime it does not work.
Sublime must not allow input in their command window.

Puzzling.

Look at Sublime REPL.
