Cannot store attachment in a reply
#1
I wanted to add a picture in a reply, but this appears to be impossible. One can only add an attachment when creating a new thread. Neither is it possible to add an attachment in the "Attachment manager" of the CP (User Control Panel). Am I the only one who wants to add attachments in a reply?

The only way I could think of wat to create a dummy thread (like this thread), add an attachment and copy the link to the reply where I wanted it.

Or else I could search a service on the WWW where I can store a file and then paste the link in the reply. But I do not trust all those services.

If you select a file and then do Preview Post you can see the attachment as well it is shown in the attachments section and you can add it inline.
I agree it is not visible immediately after you select the file

Thank you for your answer, Buran, but my problem is at the beginning:

To select the file, it must be uploaded first. How can I upload a file? I can only do so when I start e new thread. Or did I miss something?

That's it! I always start typing under "Quick reply", never noticed the button [New Reply]. And indeed, it is also visible when I click [Preview Post].
Thank you very much, @buran and @snippsat !
