Looking for Part Time Python
#1
Hi folks,

I'm a mechanical engineer by education but I have been working in software adjacent niches my whole career. I'm looking for part time Python based work to help improve my skillets and possibly consider a career re-focus.

I work as a Site Reliability Engineer at my day job. However, the role isn't your standard Google SRE role - it's more "process engineer" in current form (recycling facility). I am responsible for ensuring the devices/robots/servers receive internal software updates etc, but also that the greater plant equipment and processes are optimized.

I'm comfortable with Linux CLI environments. I'd put my Python skills at slightly above a full time beginner developer. I use Python regularly to automate my repetitive work tasks and I'm comfortable with git. However, I'm not a software developer (and never have been). I also do a decent amount of data analysis and love pandas + Jupyter Notebooks. Finally, I've worked most frequently in the Google Cloud ecosystem (BigQuery), run a Web3 node, and I'm generally familiar with SQL + Grafana + Redash.

I'm looking for opportunities that:

1. Can help me build a Python focused resume
2. Can help me improve my Python usage
3. Can provide some extra income (looking for ~10 hours per week but hopefully more like 20 hours per week in the next 90 days). Also open to even smaller projects.

If you have any questions, or want to chat further, please send me a message! I'm happy to share my Linkedin (or resume) if requested. If you're also just interested in telling me what other technologies I should focus around (AWS? Docker? etc) - I'm all ears!

Thanks,
Chase
