I've seen two posts by new members, and both of them ended in a bunch of close-italics tags ([/i][/i][/i][/i][/i]...)

Is this something to do with the editor switches?

I think i like the other one better. I like the color differences. But i could go either way.

It might be something to do with with WYSIWYG editor then switching to source and back. I cant seem to replicate it at all.

That doesnt appear to work with any plugin editors, only the default MyBB editor. Maybe i can figure out a way to switch its destination editor to the new one. somehow

I like it, except the font. Can I personalize this?
I only have one eye that works, until I have surgery, so
need font size to be a bit larger

metulburr can you remove the change you did so source button always is pushed in.
In the new editor is not needed and if forget the font is different if pushed inn.

Remember to push source button(til it fixed) to get how font look.
Now you can you can change size to eg medium/large when writing.
If don't so large font in post just change to normal font before you post reply.

The Rin Editor doesnt have the option to default to source mode. That was CKEditor that had the option for that. The Rin Editor also doesnt have the option to individualize source/WYSWIWYG editor like CKeditor didi.

Quote:The Rin Editor doesnt have the option to default to source mode.
What i mean it should not load in source mode(i think) as it dos now.
It should load source mode if using mobile,as it set now.

That why i wonder if there where i old setting still active,
that force it to start in source mode?
Shall look more into it.

I guess i dont follow. The "Source" botton toggles WYSIWYG and source modes. And it defaults in WYSIWYG mode.

In CKEditor there was an option to switch which one was default. In Rin Editor there is no such option. Even though Rin Editor is based on CKEditor. There might be a hardcoding method. But there is no option in ACP like there was with CKEditor.

EDIT:
Oh wait i see what you mean....give me a sec.
The default MyBB editor is defaulted to source mode. However the codebuttons template for the default mybb editor is not used when usinbg plugin editors and they use whatever their own method is. So the method i used before to force source mode is not going to work with the plugin editors

 MyBBEditor = $("#{$bind}").sceditor("instance");
//{ $ sourcemode }
   MyBBEditor.sourceMode(true);

ok i think i got it. Everyones editor should be defaulted to source mode.

There isnt a really get indication with this theme that source is depressed or not. The only way you can tell is with the BBCode (remove format, paste as plain text, and paste from Word) buttons are grayed out then the editor is in source mode, otherwise WYSIWYG mode.
