Metadata Xls file documnet properties

Hi Guys ,

Need your help is there a way we can write a code to quickly get xls document properties like ( Last modified date) for a file that sits on SharePoint(on premises ) and add a column with that date in the same file and column name should be "Date Last modified" ?

Not sure if it is too much of a ask but would like to really know if there is a way ?.
