I made a Discord server for people who need help with Python or other coding, I think it's kinda interesting, if anyone is interested be sure to join!

I don't plan on pinning it at this time.

I tried the link and it says it's expired. Beyond that, I'm not sure Discord is a great resource for this, for a few different reasons. I'm curious about others' thoughts though before digging into it.

Im not pinning a post which contains a voice chat/chatroom link.

First of all why would people need voice chat over PM/posting?
Second of all we have an official chatroom on IRC linked in the toplinks already. You dont need to install anything to go there either.
Thirdly, the owner is a newbie at the forum (no offense intended) and i could not send new people there without a mod being there anyways.
Fourthly, i cant condone the use of Discord as it has what i would call in-app purchases. Crap like you pay for emoji, stickers, themes, etc. even though the use of voice/PM are free.

If it is for general help, then conversations should occur in the forums where it is recorded for future search queries so it can help future people and not just those in the chatroom at that time. This is still why we prefer people use the forum over our own IRC. As well as the IRC makes this request redundant anyways. The only thing that Discord has that IRC does not is voice chat...which i fail to understand why that is needed.

The only thing Discord shines at is being a base for gamers to go to when a Early Access game does not have in-game PM/voice chat for game play. But even then they can use Steam chat. But that has nothing to do with programming python.

EDIT:
I also delinked it as i dont want Google scraping the link either.

It pretty obvious that's what we do here, and we want contend to be in this forum not in other places.

If want to promote forum/chatroom for Python, you can do it other places not here.
