Read Pins by UART Serial Communication

Dear all,

I am building a GUI to visualize inputs from a PIC microchip to a Computer using the UART serial communication "please, let me know if you need more information about the Pic Microcontroller I am using"

I would like to know if there is an API or a library to do this work, or if someone can explain how can i implement this script please
