You have the correct display.
esptool.py -h
will display the (h)elp doc, which it is doing here. To run it, you need to use the form esptool.py <arguments>
. The arguments are listed in the help doc and online here: esptool arguments
If it ain't broke, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
