net neutrality
#42
I also do not think you will see any significant change until you can break the bond of party loyalty. In days of old, if you were pro business you voted republican, if you were pro labor, you voted democrat. If your parents voted republican, you voted republican. If they voted democrat, you voted democrat. In either case, you voted a straight ticket. Older people still do it this way, but I have noticed recently, that the younger voters are starting to break this mold.

The other problem, as I see it, at least in the US, is there is no single unifying voice for change. Instead there are so many 'movements' and 'projects', each with their own agenda, that no single voice can be heard above the noise. Heaven forbid the PETA folks joined with the LGBT community, the Black Lives Matter movement, the Green Peace peeps and all the rest and said "Look, we are not making any difference individually, lets join together and work for a common goal, then work on our individual interests."  If we look back, from the anti-war movement of the Vietnam era to the Arab Spring, the Scottish Independence movement, Brexit, Catalonia Independence and so on, the thing they all have in common is the people all spoke as one. Another commonality, is they were all inspired by the younger generation. Perhaps there is hope for the US, if only we can get those darn kids away from their cell phones long enough to take a look around.  Big Grin
If it ain't broke, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
