I am not in "New Users Introduce Yourself". If I had introduced myself there I probably would have lied. This forum does not collect personal data. Even if one is with his/her true identity so what?

Anyone can choose to use their real names. Its up to them. I just meant some people would not want to.

I personally believe that the more layers of anonymity the better. Within reason. I have nothing to be concerned about here, so they can have one of my real email addresses. Even most of them are not resolvable to me. On some sites I use temp email addresses, just for verification. 95% of everything here is on a VPN. Sometimes 2 or 3. Psiphon -> VPN -> TOR
I consider my website to be semi-darknet. It cant be found on a search.
In medicine the term would be 'Universal Precautions'. I believe it should be applied to the net as well. Nyms are a form of cyber 'rubber glove'.

I dont go to the extent of using a VPN for every day activities, unless im doing something specific. But for regular browsing and gaming, I turn it off as i find it to be slower and is constantly being flagged by some sites.

I'm more worried about visibility when I post on many threads than I'm worried about individuals going through 31 pages to find that information.

My website must be part of the semi-darknet, too. Awesome!

(kinda thinking out-loud ...)
When it come to using the same handle [1][2] across the internet, that will become more difficult over time.
[1] If one is inclined to do so.
[2] real name related or not.
You might even have to pay for it, if its up to sites like "Discord".
(As in: None paying Discord-users will need to be content with having some random number attached to there used name/handle)
Kinda makes me wonder sometimes what names/handles might still be available for the newcomers in a few hundred or a thousand years.
[0] Provided, that is, we have not screwed up whatever there is to screw up.

I think sites like Facebook and Discord will eventually run their course and not be as popular at some point. Then everyone will move to a new site and create their handles. Those that have died, will then be leaving space for newcomers. And that is probably in the next 50 years. Who knows a thousand years out...we probably would consider the internet ancient technology.
For example, "metulburr" refers to me for probably my life time. After that someone could find it on the internet and grab it for their handle. If it is after i am dead, i am not going to be creating accounts with that handle. So they would easily be able to create new accounts with it.
