Scratch pad for writing forum threads / posts with markdown/markup
#1
What do you people use for drafting long forum threads / posts / Stack Overflow questions?

For years I’ve been using Google Docs which I realize is not best practice. Punctuation like quotes wreck my code snippets.

Gedit doesn't do the job because I need an autosave feature. I need a Linux compatible solution which includes an English spell checker.

What would you people recommend?

When composing posts or forum threads using markdown or markup, a scratch pad comes in very useful. It allows you to write and edit your content before it is posted. Make use of it to verify readability, test links, and try other formatting combos. Pre-posting can greatly improve the level of quality and effect of the end result. spelling bee answers
