some people don't put periods at the end of their sentences some people don't type upper case (though my android phone does some of that for me) letters sum peple dont evun spel rite o wut can we do
i wonder how the kids text to each other in Chinese? do they shortcut the symbols? can they even do that in China (if not, then look at Malaysia and Singapore)?

Yes. They do not have keyboards with over 9000 buttons 
seen one of those on TV (ancient video tech). i wonder how their phones are doing it. or just how their computers are doing it. i remember seeing something where they had a "keyboard" doing written strokes and the computer detecting the character that way.
a google search reveals that Chinese has multiple methods to choose from, including a stroke based method and one called "pinyin" that uses a QWERTY keyboard to "spell" characters. i think the next step is to look on youtube and see which methods people there are actually choosing.

they are using voice "texting". they speak short clips into the phone and it is sent to the other phone.
so what is a quad? 4 pounds?
