In a way I like the idea. There certainly have been many questions centered around Python's machine learning capabilities. Maybe even more than Networking, Web Development or Game Development? It could mean that more people who have knowledge in the field would notice the topics and thus there would be more good answers provided. It may grow into a rally point for people with related interests, and Forum as a whole can benefit from that.

On the other hand, I prefer simplicity as well... =)

Could we do a test run for a while, to see how it turns out? I don't think there would be a lot of thread moving required. Even as things stand now there isn't, unless I am missing a lot.
